    Vulcan OmniPro 220 Parts?

    Hi,

so I went into a HF store today to pick up some cheap cabinets and I saw an open box Vulcan 220 multiprocessor mwelder.

Regular cost $900 on for $450 and it comes with a 7 day warranty.

I am a hobbyist and don't do a lot of welding but have always wanted a welder so that when I need a welder I don't have to borrow one.

So I thought this might be a good deal but then the manager asked if I was an Insider Member and when I replied I was, sold it to me at 50% off.

So I ended up getting it for $250. I figured at that price and seven days to test it out I can't go wrong. If I get 2-3 years out of it, it was a good deal.

So when I got home I checked at out and while it starts I am missing three parts which after calling HF they are going to try see if they are lying around but I doubt it.

I need the 220V power cord, stick / electrode holder and the ground cable.

I tried surfing the web but I can't seem to find an online parts dealer that deals with Vulcan parts.

    Any ideas for replacement parts?

    Thanks for the help.

The connectors should all be available as they are one of a number of industry standard parts. Just go look at the display model and you'll be able to match them up.

The power cable can be made with standard parts from Home Depot. It's a standard twist lock plug on one end and a 6/50 plug on the other. The electrode holder and ground leads are standard DINSE connectors, they don't need to be Vulcan brand, just the correct size DINSE.

My guess is that they used the same style parts as the linclone counterpart. So if they are available from Lincoln they should fit.

These ground cable may work. http://www.usaweld.com/Long-Ground-C.../dinse250a.htm

This electrode holder may work. https://www.eastwood.com/electrode-h...SABEgIb1_D_BwE

I am getting a bit confused.

The mig gun’s connector says DINSE 35-70 but a number of reviewers say that the connector is a DINSE 50.

They are not the same correct?

There really are only two common sizes in use. I no longer own the Omnipro 220, but if memory serves me correctly it is the larger size.

    Hi

Since it’s was an As Is sale Harbor Freight won’t replace any of the missing components.

I ended up ordering a power cord from them for $15 but declined ordering the ground cable and the electrode cable.

Each was $40 and I figured I could make them each a lot cheaper.

    Re: Vulcan OmniPro 220 Parts?

It took a bit of time to find the correct connectors.

I went to to two welding part stores and they couldn’t match the connector.

I took a chance on Amazon and found the right connector and made a ground and stick cable.

For future reference in case someone else finds themselves in the same spot the right connector is:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B011M...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In retrospect I should have bought a red connector for the stick cable.

Now I just need to find some time to test the welder.

Where did you buy the cables? What gauge are those ( 2AWG or 1AWG)?

The number relates to the Maximum cable diameter it can accept. Only the dinse 25 is different. Which is 3/8 plug 35, 50, 70 are all 1/2" plug. Soo all are the same 35 and up

Interesting. The ground cable on my plasma will work on the Rebel but not the ground from the Rebel on the Cutmaster. I think the little locking tabs are different in size and shape.

    Re: Vulcan OmniPro 220 Parts?

Just added an Everlast cooler to my Pro-Tig as well as a flex head CK water cooled torch (series 2) and the DINSE connectors on the Pro-Tig are 35mm. Had to buy a rather expensive 35mm gas through CK Dinse connector. My local Air Gas got it for me plus the water cooler fittings to adapt the CK super Flex hoses. I have the stock torch with the DINSE fitting attached to the lead if anyone wants it. Not overly fond of the stock HF torch actually. It's kind of stiff and the rigid head makes it worse.

Went with 25 foot leads and extended my ground clam to 25 feet as well but I upped the cable size to 4 gage.

I put the HF 3 year replacement guarantee on mine. If it pukes within 3 years or less, HF will give me a NEW machine. Not a bad guarantee though it does cost extra. Been running it hard lately too.
